What might have been: Several former Browns are in the Super Bowl

Fans of the Cleveland Browns have to be wondering what might have been.

While the Browns have never been to the Super Bowl, several former Browns will be playing in Super Bowl LI on Feb. 5.

Atlanta’s Alex Mack and Taylor Gabriel, and New England’s Dion Lewis, Barkevious Mingo and Jabaal Sheard all spent time on the Browns roster.

Mack was a three-time Pro Bowler at center for the Browns, who selected him in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He grew disgruntled in Cleveland after seven straight losing seasons and signed as a free agent with the Falcons last March.

Mack became the missing piece on the Falcons offensive line and was again selected to the Pro Bowl while helping quarterback Matt Ryan have the best season of his career.

Ryan will likely be the NFL MVP and one of his favorite weapons to complement All-Pro receiver Julio Jones is Taylor Gabriel.

Of course, the logistical prep work could be all for naught. Trust me it’s crushing to everyone in the organization when that happens as opposed to the exhilaration of winning the conference and heading to the Super Bowl with your team, family and closest friends.

Having a quarterback like Brady, Roethlisberger, Rodgers or Ryan to lead your team is most comforting. But the prospect of having to beat one is Cheap Ireland Football Jerseys very disconcerting.

All of us in the Vikings organization felt great knowing Cheap Hockey Jerseys Custom we had a seasoned, All-Pro quarterback with loads of playoff experience in 36-year-old Fran Tarkenton to lead us in frigid Met Stadium against the Los Angeles Rams in the 1976 NFC championship. Sir Francis, as we called him, got the job done, and we were on our way to Super Bowl XI at the Rose Bowl.
